Residents of a village near the Thailand-Myanmar border were terrified for three days by eerie “ghostly sounds” coming from a nearby forest. To their shock, noises ended being the cries for help of a 22-year-old Chinese man, Liu Chuanyi, who had been trapped in a 12-meter-deep well. The authorities were finally able to locate the source of the sound and rescue him after a 30-minute operation.
Liu was stuck in the well without food or water for three days. There he preserved his energy and screamed every hour, hoping someone might hear. The villagers couldn’t understand his language; thus, they thought that these were just manifestations of some kind of supernatural.
When the police and rescue team arrived at the distant area, they found that Liu was suffering from a concussion, fractured wrist, and bruises from different parts of his body. He was taken to the nearest local hospital immediately. Liu had fallen into the well by accident as he was lost in the forest without any certain reason why he wandered there.
Locals reported hearing loud, strange noises for three days, especially at night. Believing the sounds to be supernatural, they avoided going outside after dark. They were too scared to investigate the source of the cries.
Following the incident, people within China’s social media stated that Liu is very strong, and one commented, “Well done to his strength and endurance. Fighting for three days and nights but he can still shout; this boy is a great man!” It has been said that subsequent to the incident, governments have sealed the well due to accidents that occurred over there.
