This came shortly after the BCCI announced that India would not travel to Pakistan for the tournament due to the ongoing political tensions between the two countries.
The two cricketers, who had just finished playing in the T20I series in South Africa, were approached by Pakistani fans at a gaming arena. A video of the interaction quickly went viral on X (formerly Twitter).

When a fan asked Suryakumar Yadav, “Ek baat bataiye aap, Pakistan kyun nahi arahe hai? (Tell me one thing, why are you not coming to Pakistan?)” Surya smiled awkwardly but handled the question calmly, explaining, “Arrey bhaiya, hamare hath mein thodi hai (Brother, it is not in our hands).”

Rinku Singh, who was present during the conversation, appeared unfazed but remained focused on the fans. When one of them asked for his opinion on the Champions Trophy issue, Rinku ignored the question and told the fan to stop filming them: “Video toh band kardo aap (Please shut the video).”
The video quickly gained traction, with many viewers expressing support for Rinku’s response.
