In a scathing critique, Democratic National Committee Women’s Co-Chair Lindy Li expressed her frustration with President Joe Biden’s decision to endorse Kamala Harris as his successor. During her appearance on Fox & Friends Weekend, Li dubbed Harris’s campaign a “$1 billion disaster.”

Campaign Mismanagement and Misleading Promises

Li highlighted the financial strain on Harris’s campaign, noting a debt of $18-$20 million despite significant fundraising efforts. “I raised millions, and now I have to explain to my donors what went wrong,” Li remarked. She accused campaign chair Jen O’Malley Dillon of misleading staff and donors, assuring them that Harris had a strong chance of winning.

Biden’s Endorsement Sparks Backlash

Li was particularly critical of Biden’s swift endorsement of Harris, calling it a “big ‘F you’ to the party.” She argued that if Donald Trump posed such a significant threat, Democrats should have adopted a more democratic process for selecting Biden’s successor rather than “coronating” Harris.

Obamas’ Delayed Endorsement

Li also took aim at former President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama for their delayed support of Harris. “Their three-day silence was deafening,” she said, emphasizing the lack of unity within the party during a critical time.

Calls for Accountability

Li stressed the need for accountability, urging Democratic leaders to address the mismanagement and regain the trust of party donors and supporters. “The stakes are too high for us to keep making these mistakes,” she warned.

The controversy underscores ongoing tensions within the Democratic Party as it gears up for future elections.
