Meghan Markle Sets This ‘One Condition’ for King Charles III to Meet His Grandchildren

Reports suggest Meghan Markle may soon agree to let her children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, meet King Charles III—albeit under “one condition,” hinting at a potential shift in relations between the Sussexes and the British monarchy.

According to Daily Mail, Meghan and Prince Harry are reportedly purchasing a home in Portugal, where they are also considering a ‘Golden Visa.’ This property move is believed to have been facilitated by the Duke’s cousin, Princess Eugenie, and her husband, Jack Brooksbank.

Speculation is growing that this move could be aimed at strengthening ties with the Royal Family without the complexities of traveling to the UK.

Since stepping back from royal duties and relocating to the U.S. in 2020, Meghan has returned to the UK only twice: once for Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee and again for her funeral in September 2022. Archie, born in 2019, spent his early months at Frogmore Cottage in Windsor, but Princess Lilibet, born in 2021 in California, has never lived in the UK.

A source told Closer Magazine, “Now, if it is deemed safe from a security standpoint, it’s likely she’ll give her blessing for Harry to take Archie and Lilibet to see their grandpa, King Charles, at some point.” The source added that a home in Portugal “will make that easier, because Meghan can fly over with the kids without feeling trapped.”

Commentators view Meghan’s decision to buy a home in Portugal as a potentially “shrewd move,” considering her ongoing tensions with the Royal Family.
