IIT Delhi Alumni’s High-Tech Home Gym Aroleap X Gains Anand Mahindra’s Support Amid Mixed Reactions

A group of IIT Delhi alumni has developed Aroleap X, a high-tech home gym, attracting interest and debate in the Indian fitness community. Founded by Aman Rai, Amal George Mechirackal, Anurag Dani, and Rohit Patel, their Bengaluru-based startup, Aroleap, aims to make data-driven personal training accessible with this compact, AI-enabled gym equipment. The product, priced at around Rs. 1.7 lakh, featured recently on Shark Tank India, sparking mixed reactions from viewers.

Anand Mahindra’s Support Draws Attention

Auto industry titan Anand Mahindra expressed his interest in Aroleap X on social media, appreciating the innovative blend of mechanics and physical therapy principles. “A clever convergence of mechanics & physical therapy principles to design a product that has global potential,” Mahindra commented, adding that it could fit well in small apartments and business hotels.

Mixed Reactions and Criticism of High Pricing

However, Aroleap X faced backlash online, with some users claiming the design resembles Tonal, a similar American product launched in 2015. Commenters questioned the high price point and the necessity for further innovation, arguing that comparable home gyms already exist in international markets. Critics also noted the lack of experience and high cost, calling for a more affordable version to appeal to a wider Indian audience.

As of now, Aroleap has not responded to the criticism.
