Adani Energy Solutions Reports 172% Surge in Q2 Profits, Total Income Rises 68.9%

Adani Energy Solutions Limited (AESL), a key player in India’s private transmission and distribution sector, announced on Tuesday a remarkable 172.2% increase in its net profit for the July-September quarter, reaching ₹773 crore, up from ₹284 crore during the same period last year. Combined net profits for the April-June and July-September quarters also saw a significant rise of 133.4%, totaling approximately ₹1,088 crore.

Robust Growth in Income and EBITDA

The company’s total income for the quarter surged 68.9% year-on-year, amounting to ₹6,360 crore compared to ₹3,766 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year. This growth is attributed to newly operational transmission assets, the partial completion of ongoing projects, and increased energy sales driven by strong demand in its distribution business in Mumbai and Mundra, along with an expanding smart metering segment.

Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization (EBITDA) for the quarter also rose by 31%, reaching ₹1,891 crore, supported by strong revenue growth across all segments, including EPC income in transmission, treasury income, and a stable regulated EBITDA from the distribution business.

Strategic Focus and Expansion

Kandarp Patel, CEO of Adani Energy Solutions, emphasized the company’s commitment to timely project completion and operational efficiency. He noted encouraging trends in power demand from both utilities and new transmission projects, as well as progress in smart meter installations across all contracts.

During the quarter, AESL secured three new transmission projects with a total project cost of ₹10,300 crore, including projects in Jamnagar, Mundra, and Khavda Phase IVA, adding 2,059 circuit kilometers to its expanding network. By the end of the quarter, the company had a total transmission network of 23,269 circuit kilometers.

With a presence across 16 states, AESL serves over 12 million consumers in metropolitan Mumbai and the Mundra SEZ. The company is also positioning itself as a leading smart metering integrator in India, with an order book exceeding 22.8 million meters.
