Crispy on the Outside, Diljit on the Inside: Artist Pays Tribute To Singer With Animated Diljit ‘Dosa

Diljit Dosanjh has undoubtedly taken the internet by storm. The renowned Punjabi singer has been in the spotlight for various reasons, most recently for becoming the first Indian artist featured on the cover of Billboard Canada. His catchy tunes are also making waves on social media. Fans showcase their admiration for celebrities in numerous creative ways, and a recent tribute to Diljit by an artist added a delightful foodie twist.

Sabari Venu (@meancurry) shared a humorous animated reel on Instagram that showcased an outline of Diljit’s face cleverly drawn inside a dosa. In the now-viral video, a crispy dosa is folded in half on a plate. When opened, the animation reveals the ‘face’ of Diljit singing a few lines from his popular song, “Lover.” Known for his clever puns, Sabari aptly named his creation “Diljit Dosa,” with the caption, “Found a Diljit in my Dosa… and he cooked.”

Social Media Reactions:

The post quickly garnered attention and received an outpouring of love online. Here are some of the amusing reactions in the comments section:

A user humorously remarked, “The only Diljit I can afford.”

While someone commented, “Putting the pun in Punjabi”, another made a quirky remark and said, “Who leaked my dad’s genius joke?”

A user pointed at his love for Dosa, “This is even funnier if you follow Diljit’s Snapchat.” He added, “Dosa seems to be his favourite breakfast. He’s always trying to convince his home chefs to make them, but more often than not they turn out terribly.”

Another remarked, “People are dying to buy his tickets and this person casually stopped him from singing.”

This tribute seems particularly fitting, as Diljit Dosanjh is a known foodie. Just a few weeks ago, he shared a reel showcasing a “busy day” in which he made a delicious chicken curry.
