Renowned choreographer Remo D’Souza and his wife, Lizelle, have found themselves embroiled in a serious controversy after being accused of cheating a dance troupe out of ₹11.96 crore. A complaint filed by a 26-year-old dancer has prompted legal action against the couple and several others.
Allegations of Fraud and Cheating
According to a report by PTI, the dancer has named Remo D’Souza, Lizelle, and five other individuals in his complaint. The allegations suggest that the couple, along with the other accused, engaged in forgery and cheating under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including Section 465 (forgery) and Section 420 (cheating).
The FIR states that the dancer and his troupe were defrauded in 2018 and again in 2024. The complaint alleges that after winning a popular reality dance show, the accused falsely claimed ownership of the troupe and misappropriated their prize money, which amounted to ₹11.96 crore.
Investigation Underway
The police are currently investigating the case, which also includes allegations against Omprakash Shankar Chouhan, Rohit Jadhav, Frame Production Company, Vinod Raut, a policeman, and Ramesh Gupta. As of now, Remo D’Souza has not publicly commented on the matter.

Remo D’Souza is a celebrated choreographer known for his work in films such as Chameli, Dhoom, Rock On!!, Student Of The Year 2 and Bajirao Mastani,. He has also been a prominent judge on various dance reality shows, including Dance India Dance and Dance Plus.

In addition to his choreography work, D’Souza is set to make his directorial debut with the film Be Happy, which stars Raghav Juyal, Jaideep Ahlawat, Shivani Raghuvanshi, Abhishek Bachchan, and Nora Fatehi. The release date for the film has yet to be announced, but it is expected to stream on Prime Video.
