Lawrence Bishnoi’s Love Story: From Class 10 to His Girlfriend’s Fiery Death

Lawrence Bishnoi, currently incarcerated in Ahmedabad’s Sabarmati Central Jail, is believed to be around 31 years old. His alleged criminal network reportedly spans across Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, and Uttar Pradesh. Over the last few years, Bishnoi’s name has been associated with several high-profile murders, most notably the assassinations of singer Sidhu Moose Wala and former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique.

The transformation of this police constable’s son into a notorious gangster is intriguing. Known as Lawrence Bishnoi alias Balkaran Barar, he fell in love while in school. Unfortunately, this love story ended tragically when his girlfriend was allegedly burnt alive by his rivals during a college student election.

Early Life

Reports indicate that Lawrence Bishnoi grew up in a relatively comfortable environment; his father was a member of the Haryana Police, and the family owned extensive land worth crores. Despite this privileged upbringing, he eventually became involved in criminal activities. News18 Hindi has cited his acquaintances, revealing that while attending a convent school in Abohar, Lawrence developed a crush on a classmate. Their infatuation blossomed into mutual love when they both enrolled at DAV College in Chandigarh for higher education.

Political Aspirations

During his time at DAV College, Lawrence ventured into student politics and established the Student Organisation of Punjab University (SOPU). However, his political ambitions were dashed when he lost the student union presidential election to a rival faction. This defeat intensified his anger, leading him to acquire a revolver and assert dominance in college politics, according to News18 Hindi.

Tensions escalated after the college election in 2011, resulting in violent confrontations between Lawrence’s group and their opponents. Tragically, the rival faction targeted Lawrence’s girlfriend, reportedly setting her on fire during a brutal attack. Following her death, Lawrence sought revenge against several student leaders.

Lawrence was only five years old when the infamous blackbuck poaching case involving Bollywood star Salman Khan occurred in 1998 during the filming of Hum Saath-Saath Hain in Rajasthan. This incident angered the Bishnoi community, which reveres the animal.

Fast forward twenty-six years, and Lawrence Bishnoi’s deep-seated resentment towards Salman Khan persists even while he is behind bars. This animosity gained attention again after the recent gunning down of former Maharashtra minister and NCP leader Baba Siddique (66), who was known to have close ties with the Bollywood actor.

Mumbai Police suspect that Siddique’s murder was orchestrated at Lawrence Bishnoi’s behest after a purported Facebook post surfaced, stating, “Jo Salman Khan aur Dawood gang ki help karega apna hisab-kitab laga ke rakhna (whoever helps Salman Khan and the Dawood gang, keep your accounts in order).”
