Union Ministers Jitan Ram Manjhi, JP Nadda, and Shobha Karandlaje paid floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi at Khadi Bhandar on Wednesday, marking his 155th birth anniversary. Gandhi’s Khadi Legacy Celebrated

Jitan Ram Manjhi emphasized Gandhi’s efforts to promote Khadi for self-reliance and employment. “On this day, Mahatma Gandhi spun the charkha to promote Khadi for self-reliance,” Manjhi told ANI, further crediting Prime Minister Narendra Modi for continuing to encourage Khadi as a part of organic clothing manufacturing.

Shobha Karandlaje noted Gandhi’s commitment to cleanliness and Khadi during the freedom movement, adding that the Prime Minister’s promotion of Khadi has inspired the youth to embrace it. “People have started inclining towards Khadi, thanks to the Prime Minister’s initiative,” she remarked.

Nadda Appeals for Support of Khadi

BJP President JP Nadda highlighted the historical significance of Khadi in uniting the nation during the freedom struggle. “Khadi played a very important role, and Mahatma Gandhi always promoted it,” Nadda said. He also mentioned that the annual turnover of Khadi products has risen significantly under Modi’s leadership, from ₹25,000 crore to ₹1.55 lakh crore. Nadda urged people to support the movement by purchasing at least one Khadi product.
