Telangana Congress bats for farmers, flays ruling TRS

Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader in the Telangana State Assembly Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Tuesday lashed out at the state government for its sheer negligence and incapacity to come to the rescue of farmers and for its utter failure in all the fronts. He said CM KCR had taken U-turn on the draconian farm laws being brought in by the NDA government soon after KCR’s Delhi trip. The CLP leader said people in Telangana are not slaves like KCR and they, especially farmers, would fight tooth and nail till the farm laws, which were enacted to help the big corporates, are withdrawn unconditionally.

Interacting with the farmers in Bhimsari in Adilabad district, as part of the CLP’s Raitulathomukhamukhi (direct interaction with farmers) programme in Adilabad along with MLA D.Sridhar Babu and Kisan cell chairman Anvesh Reddy. Bhatti explained at length to the farmers about the adverse effects of the farm Laws. If these farm laws, which have been brought in to help the big corporates, are implemented, the farmers will not live with any dignity. The farmers’ agitation will continue till the draconian laws are withdrawn, he said.

Stating that CM KCR, who is exploiting the farmers, should be uprooted and thrown out like an unnecessary weed in the crops, Bhatti alleged that “KCR prostrated before PM Modi and is working like a slave of the PM”. “KCR, who compared chiefministership provided by the Constitution written by Dr Ambedkar as his left foot chappal, should leave the chappal by resigning. How should KCR be taught a lesson for comparing CM post with a chappal? KCR cannot lift the procurement centres as the state is not his fiefdom to do things according to his whims and fancies,” Bhatti said.

He said the solution to the problem faced by the country is being searched from Adilabad. The preparedness of farmers in Adilabad to continue their stir reminding one of the armed struggle that shook the country. The Congress came to the doorstep of farmers to make the farmer King and to protect him from all the onslaughts.

Listing out the exploitation of farmers under the KCR rule, the CLP leader said under the Fasal Bhima Yojana, though farmers have paid their share, the state government did not put in its share resulting in stoppage of Rs 960 crore funds. This is directly harming the farmers.

Earlier, interacting with Bhatti, several farmers poured their cup of woes. Farmer Krishnaiah said that there is an urgent need to fight against the Black Farm Bills. Farmers Ashok and Vithal said there is no Bhima implementation, while another farmer Bhim Reddy said though the government promised it would procure the produce village wise and now it is refusing to buy any.

On his arrival, Bhatti was given a rousing welcome by farmers and other people. They took out an impressive motor bike rally. The villagers took Bhatti on the cart driven by oxen and took him to the dais. People came in large numbers, interacted enthusiastically and heard Bhatt’s speech with rapt attention.
