In his first address following the killing of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, Deputy Leader Naim Qassem promised on Monday to persist in the fight against Israel, asserting the group’s readiness for a protracted conflict. His speech comes in the wake of Israeli airstrikes targeting key Hezbollah figures, marking a significant escalation in the ongoing tensions between Israel and the Iran-backed group.

During a televised address, Qassem reassured the Lebanese people, stating, “Victory is our ally; we need a bit of patience.” He emphasized that Hezbollah is working to resolve its leadership issues after Nasrallah’s death in an Israeli strike last Friday.

Qassem declared that despite the loss of top military commanders in recent months, Hezbollah has identified new leadership and is prepared to adapt. “Israel was not able to affect our military capabilities,” he asserted, noting the presence of deputy commanders ready to step in should any leader be incapacitated.

The recent Israeli bombardment has intensified, resulting in the deaths of several high-ranking Hezbollah officials. Qassem indicated that if Israel were to launch a ground offensive, Hezbollah fighters would be ready to defend Lebanon.

“Our commitment to the fight remains unwavering,” he concluded, as Hezbollah prepares for a sustained conflict against Israeli forces.
