An Indian Army medical team, led by Lt Col Anuj Singh, successfully conducted a critical evacuation of Havildar Suresh R, an injured Indian Army personnel, from the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) Golan Heights to India. The operation was carried out using a C-130 Air Ambulance, with coordination from the Indian Air Force, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), and other agencies.

The Critical Care Air Evacuation Medical Team included two trained paramedics from Base Hospital, Delhi Cantt. The mission not only ensured the safe evacuation of the soldier but also provided advanced critical care support en route to India, despite the uncertain and challenging circumstances.

Havildar Suresh, 33, had been admitted to Rambam Hospital, Haifa, Israel, for 30 days after sustaining severe injuries, including a head injury, subarachnoid hemorrhage, diffuse axonal injury, and Hemiparesis on the left side. His condition was stabilized, and he was airlifted from Tel Aviv at 1:20 AM IST on September 26, arriving in Jamnagar by 10 AM IST. The soldier was then transferred to Army Hospital R&R in New Delhi by 3 PM the same day.

The successful evacuation highlights the Indian Armed Forces’ dedication to saving lives, even in the most challenging conditions, demonstrating their commitment to the highest ethos of service.
