Cases of dengue have started coming to the fore. On Friday, the SMO of Dhakoli Community Health Center, referring to a report, confirmed the emergence of dengue cases. Citing the report, the SMO said that 22 cases of dengue and 14 cases of malaria have been confirmed in Zirakpur. This report is being told of one week. These are the figures which are recorded in the government records, whereas dozens of private hospitals are running in the city and patients are getting their treatment there too. The number of dengue patients may increase in the coming days. Dengue spreads due to the bite of Aedes mosquito, in this the patient first complains of high fever. After which symptoms like vomiting, diarrhea, headache appear. During this time, the platelet count of the patient starts decreasing. In severe cases of dengue, the platelets decrease to less than 50 thousand, which can prove to be dangerous for the patient.
Samples are taken for dengue test in Dhakoli Community Health Center which are sent to Derabassi Government Hospital. It takes a week for the report to come from there. Due to which patients get the test done from private labs. Doctors start treatment on the basis of that report. Apart from this, a dengue ward has been made in Dhakoli Community Health Center where 6 to 8 patients can be admitted at a time.
Patients of seasonal and viral fever are also increasing
The number of patients suffering from seasonal and viral fever is also increasing. The outbreak of cough, cold, fever, viral and other seasonal diseases is increasing. There is a daily queue of patients at a government community health center Dhakoli in Zirakpur and mohalla clinics located at three different places in the city.
The number of patients in the OPD of Community Health Center Dhakoli is crossing 250, in which 10% i.e. around 25 patients suffer from viral fever every day.
Around 70 patients are coming to the mohalla clinic of Peermuchhalla every day and out of them 10 patients are suffering from viral fever. CBC tests are done which determine the number of platelets in the patient. For other tests, the patient is asked to go to Dhakoli Health Center or Derabassi. Typhoid patients are also coming and in these cases too, the platelets are low.
Around 100 patients are coming to the mohalla clinic of Baltana every day. Out of these, 20 to 25 patients are suffering from viral fever. Apart from this, 4 patients have been diagnosed with typhoid and one patient with dengue. Every day the report of their clinic is submitted to the officials. Apart from this, patients suffering from viral fever are also reaching the mohalla clinic located in Preet Colony.
The condition of the patients is being monitored, all are normal at the moment

We have enough medicines and the dengue ward is also ready. Samples of suspected dengue patients are being sent to the government hospital in Derabassi. CBC tests are being done here so that information about the patient’s platelet count can be obtained. Wear full-sleeved clothes and use mosquito net while sleeping. Keep water tanks and drinking water vessels covered. Do not allow mosquitoes to breed around the houses and destroy the sources of their breeding. Do not allow water to collect in any vessel around the houses and on the roof. Drink filtered and heated water. Consult a doctor in case of cough, cold and fever.

Do not be careless when you have fever and do not take any medicine on your own. If you have fever, consult a doctor immediately and start treatment. Viral fever usually gets cured in 3 to 4 days. But typhoid, malaria and dengue fever can last for many days. During this time, the patient feels weak and the patient’s platelets decrease. To avoid this, get the test done after consulting the doctor.
