The Indian Army organized a medical camp in the remote village of Kordoiguri, Tinsukia district, Assam, on Saturday as part of Operation Sadbhavana, according to a press release. A team of five general physicians—three from local Civil PHCs of Bandarkhati and nearby tea estates, along with two from the Army—provided comprehensive medical services to over 900 residents, supported by nursing staff.
The medical camp offered a range of services, including health check-ups, consultations, vital healthcare provisions, and the distribution of medicines. This initiative addressed immediate health concerns while also emphasizing the significance of preventive health measures. The event reflects the Army’s commitment to enhancing community health and strengthening its ties with local residents in a spirit of nation-building.
In a separate operation, the Indian Army, Assam Rifles, and other security forces conducted extensive search and recovery operations in various districts of Manipur on September 9. An official release noted that these efforts led to the recovery of significant amounts of arms and ammunition. Acting on specific intelligence regarding weapon caches in areas like Liklai, Mashemjang, and Thoroilok, a joint search operation involving the Indian Army, Assam Rifles, BSF, CRPF, and Manipur Police was launched.
The operation resulted in the seizure of multiple weapons, including two 9 mm pistols with magazines, one single-barrel 12 mm bore gun, 17 locally improvised long-range mortars, an AK Series rifle, a carbine machine gun, a sniper rifle, an INSAS rifle, and several other firearms. All recovered weapons and ammunition have been handed over to the Manipur Police.
