A Vistara Airlines flight from Mumbai to Frankfurt, carrying 234 passengers and 13 crew members, made an emergency landing in Erzurum, Turkey, on Friday. The incident occurred after a crew member discovered a note in the plane’s toilet claiming there was a bomb on board.

In response to the threat, authorities were immediately notified, and the airline is fully cooperating with security agencies to conduct thorough checks. A Vistara spokesperson emphasized that passenger, crew, and aircraft safety is their top priority.

The Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, which had departed Mumbai at 1:02 p.m., landed safely in Erzurum at 7:05 p.m. Passengers were evacuated and provided refreshments while bomb disposal experts examined the aircraft. The airspace over Erzurum was temporarily closed during the investigation.

This incident follows two previous bomb threats involving Vistara flights. On June 28, a flight from Thiruvananthapuram to Mumbai received a similar threat, which was later confirmed to be a hoax. Another Vistara flight from Paris to Mumbai faced a bomb threat on June 2, which was also determined to be false.
