5 Year-Old Odisha Boy Falls From Train In Forest: Did He Survive?

In a miraculous turn of events, a five-year-old boy from Berhampur, Odisha, survived after falling off a moving train in a forested area. The child, who had fallen from the Durg-Puri Express, was rescued hours later by a goods train driver who spotted him on the tracks.

Incident Occurred While Family Slept

According to Railway Police Inspector MK Sahu, the boy was traveling with his father and uncle from Durg to Bhubaneswar when the incident occurred around 2 a.m. on Wednesday. Both the father and uncle were asleep at the time when the boy went to the toilet and accidentally fell from the open compartment door while peeking outside.

Fell Near Angarpada Village, Suffered Injuries

The fall occurred near Angarpada village, approximately four kilometers from the Rairakhol station. The boy landed across a parallel track, sustaining injuries to his head and hands. Disoriented and unable to make a decision, he sat on the tracks, waiting for help.

Goods Train Driver Spots the Boy

Hours later, the driver of a goods train passing on the same track spotted the child and immediately alerted the Rairakhol station authorities. Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel quickly responded to the call and rushed to the site to rescue the boy.

Boy Taken to Hospital in Critical Condition

The injured child was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, the boy’s father, after searching for him in all compartments of the train, notified authorities at the Dhenkanal station. He was later informed that his son had been found and was receiving medical attention.

The boy’s timely rescue has been hailed as a miracle, with the train driver’s alertness playing a crucial role in saving the child’s life.
