Disney Channel’s eagerly awaited sequel series, Wizards Beyond Waverly Place, is set to premiere on October 29, 2024, just in time for Halloween. The debut will feature two episodes, airing at 8 p.m. ET/PT. This premiere date was confirmed by Disney on their official Instagram account.

Following the initial broadcast, the first eight episodes of the series will be available for streaming on Disney+ and Disney Channel On Demand starting the next day. The new season has generated buzz with the exciting news that former Disney Channel stars Raven-Symone and Danielle Fishel will be directing some of the episodes.

A recent first-look video, aired during the premiere of Descendants: The Rise of Red, has provided fans with a sneak peek of the series. The video showcased the return of David Henrie and Selena Gomez as Justin and Alex Russo. It also introduced several new cast members: Janice LeAnn Brown as Billie, Alkaio Thiele as Roman Russo, Max Matenko as Milo Russo, Taylor Cora as Winter, and Mimi Gianopulos as Giada Russo.

Selena Gomez is set to make a guest appearance in the first episode, while David Henrie and the rest of the cast will play prominent roles throughout the season. The storyline of Wizards Beyond Waverly Place follows Justin Russo, now leading a normal life with his family—Giada, Roman, and Milo—after leaving his magical past behind. However, when his sister Alex arrives with Billie, a young wizard-in-training, Justin is drawn back into the magical world. He must balance mentoring Billie with his new life and his responsibility to protect the future of the Wizard World.

The series is developed by Jed Elinoff and Scott Thomas, who are also serving as writers and executive producers, along with Gary Marsh, Jonas Agin, Selena Gomez, and David Henrie. Andy Fickman, who directed and executive-produced the pilot, will direct several episodes of the series. The original show, Wizards of Waverly Place, was created by Todd Greenwald.
