Donald Trump-Elon Musk Interview: ‘Electric Vehicles Still Rely on Fossil Fuels for Production and Energy’ Says Trump

During their conversation, Elon Musk, who attributes much of his wealth to the success of his electric car company, acknowledged that fossil fuels remain essential for prosperity. However, he also warned that fossil fuel supplies are finite and that atmospheric carbon dioxide poses its own risks.

In response, Donald Trump pointed out the ongoing reliance on fossil fuels, even in the production of electric vehicles. “I’ve heard in terms of the fossil fuel, because even to create your electric car and create the electricity needed for the electric car, you know, fossil fuel is what really creates that at the generating plants … so you sort of can’t get away from it at this moment,” Trump said.

Donald Trump’s highly anticipated interview with Elon Musk on X was marred by major technical issues even before it began. The disruption forced Musk to limit the interview to a smaller audience, leaving many users unable to tune in.

This interview was seen as a crucial moment for Trump, especially as Vice President Kamala Harris has closed the gap in opinion polls and energized Democratic voters with recent rallies. The Trump campaign had billed the interview as the “interview of the century.”
