The statement in question was made by Abhishek Bachchan days after he attended the premiere of Aishwarya’s 2016 film, “Sarbjit.” When asked by a reporter about the status of his marriage to Aishwarya, Abhishek responded, “I don’t have to say anything to you all about that.” He also showed his wedding ring and confirmed that he was “still married” to Aishwarya. He added, “I think you all have blown the entire thing out of proportion, sadly. But I understand why you do it. You all have to file some stories. It’s okay, we’re celebrities, we have to take it. Still married, sorry.”

Divorce rumours were reignited when Abhishek and Aishwarya arrived separately at Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding in Mumbai on July 12. Abhishek attended with Amitabh Bachchan and other family members, while Aishwarya arrived with their daughter Aaradhya.
Around the same time, Abhishek drew attention after he ‘liked’ an Instagram post related to divorce amid the separation rumours. The post’s text read, “When love stops being easy.” The caption discussed the challenges of divorce and coping with separation after spending significant time together.
Despite the rumours, Abhishek and Aishwarya continue to be married, and recent reports have been clarified as a misunderstanding stemming from an old interview.
