Olympic Justin Best Pops Question In Paris With 2,700 Roses

Olympic gold medalist Justin Best made headlines again, this time for a romantic proposal in Paris. After winning the first-ever rowing gold medal for the United States with his team earlier this month, Justin Best decided to pop the question to his girlfriend, Lainey Duncan, in the City of Love.

On Monday, with the Eiffel Tower as the backdrop, Justin got down on one knee and proposed to Lainey with a stunning display of 2,700 yellow roses. The proposal was even broadcast live on TV, according to Today.

Justin spoke from the heart, telling Lainey, “You are the love of my life. From our very first date, you supported my dream of going to the Olympics, and now I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me?”

Lainey was overwhelmed with emotion and said yes. The couple was surrounded by people holding bouquets of yellow roses. Each rose represented a day they’ve been together, and Justin mentioned that their Snapchat streak of 2,738 days inspired the number of roses.

Further Justin said, “Each rose represents a day we’ve spent together. Our love is now immortalized.”
