India’s Top Medal Contenders To Watch At the Paris Olympics

India has already secured three bronze medals at the Paris Olympics and is now aiming for more gold and silver. Here are some of India’s top medal prospects still competing:

Neeraj Chopra – Javelin Throw
Neeraj Chopra, the defending Olympic champion in javelin throw, is one of India’s brightest hopes for gold. He will compete in the qualification round on August 6.

Mirabai Chanu – Weightlifting
Mirabai Chanu, who won silver at the last Olympics, has made a strong comeback after injuries. She will compete in the 49 kg weightlifting category on August 7.

Men’s Hockey
The Indian men’s hockey team has performed well and will face Great Britain in the quarterfinals. They are looking to add to their eight gold medals with another win in Paris.

Lovlina Borgohain – Boxing
Lovlina Borgohain, who won bronze in Tokyo, will compete against Li Qian in the women’s boxing quarterfinals. She hopes to improve her medal color this time.

Lakshya Sen – Badminton

Vinesh Phogat and Antim Panghal – Wrestling
Vinesh Phogat, a two-time Olympian with multiple golds and medals, and Antim Panghal, who won a bronze at the Asian Games, are strong contenders in wrestling. Vinesh will compete on August 6, and Antim will start her bouts on August 7.
