eVidyaloka, an NGO dedicated to transforming rural education, has partnered with the Indian Army under Operation Sadbhavana to establish a Digital Classroom in the Govt. Middle School Nakarkote, near the Line of Control in Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir.

Launched on Kargil Vijay Diwas 2024, this initiative aims to bridge the digital divide, providing equal learning opportunities for children aged 10-15 years in these remote areas.
The digital classroom, equipped with LED monitors and WiFi, will offer quality education through eVidyaloka’s global volunteers, teaching online in regional languages. Subjects include Math, Science, and English, with a focus on engaging and interactive learning. Beyond academics, the initiative aims to foster critical thinking and nurture responsible, informed citizens.

Mr. Ravichandran V, Chairperson of eVidyaloka, emphasized the importance of education in national progress, expressing excitement about reaching children in remote Jammu and Kashmir with the support of the Indian Army. This collaboration addresses educational disparities and resource shortages, using digital tools and innovative teaching methods to empower students and elevate educational standards in the region. As of March 2024, eVidyaloka has impacted over 189,000 underprivileged students across 734 government schools in 14 states.
