The matter of Dalit atrocities echoed in the Rajasthan Assembly during Zero Hour on Monday. During this, the MLAs of the opposition came to the well and raised slogans. At the same time, the ruling party alleged that when the Congress was in power, Dalits were tortured more. Today, the Congress is shedding crocodile tears over Dalit atrocities. Actually, during Zero Hour, Leader of Opposition Tikaram Julie raised the issue of Dalit atrocities. He raised the issue of cutting the teacher with sword in Salumbhar and killing of Dalit student in Sikar in the House. At the same time, Bharat Adivasi Party MLA Thawarchand raised the issue of killing a Dalit teacher with sword in Salumbhar through adjournment and demanded compensation of one crore. There was a heated argument between Minister Kharari and Congress MLA Bamaniya

During the Question Hour in the Assembly, there was a heated argument between Tribal Development Minister Babulal Kharari and Congress MLA Arjun Singh Bamaniya on the issue of removing the officer of the government organization Swachh in Banswara by the Collector and appointing a new officer. Kharari said that the department had complaints against this officer, so he was removed. There were heavy complaints against the officer you wanted to appoint. Bamaniya objected to this. There was a heated argument between the two for some time. Bamaniya said that if there are many officers in Swachh Sansthan then what is the reason for appointing someone from other department?

How did the collector appoint an officer there: Julie

Amidst the debate between Kharadi and Bamaniya, Leader of Opposition Tikaram Julie questioned that Swachh is a government-run NGO. It is clear in its constitution that the director of this institution will decide on continuing or ending the services of the employees and transfer-posting. Despite this, how did the collector appoint an officer there? By what authority did the collector appoint the officer? He said that the collector did not have this right. What action does the government want to take? This is how you are weakening the constitution. Those who do not have power are interfering in the institutions. On this, Minister Kharadi said that after complaints, the Tribal Development Department had ordered the removal of this officer from Swachh Sansthan. The officer had done a lot of irregularities. He made purchases of more than 9 crores without authority in an illegal manner. Paid crores. This entire matter will be investigated by ACB.

Former CM Ashok Gehlot took to social media and highlighted that during the Congress rule in Rajasthan, there was a swift response to crimes against Scheduled Castes and Tribes, with the police consistently supporting victims. However, he expressed concerns that since the change in government, there has been a significant rise in crimes against Scheduled Castes and Tribes. He pointed out alarming increases in such crimes by 32.7%, 33.7%, 34.1%, 19.5%, 62.5%, and 53.37% from January to June 2024 compared to December 2023.

Gehlot cited a specific incident in Jodhpur as evidence of the government and police’s apparent indifference towards atrocities against Dalits. He noted that while the police have been unable to apprehend the perpetrators, the accused have been able to attack victims with impunity. According to Gehlot, such incidents are a serious indictment of the Rajasthan government, which cannot evade responsibility. He urged the Chief Minister to take immediate action to ensure the safety of Dalits and tribals.
