Sundeep Kishan Defends Restaurant Following Food Safety Raid

Sundeep Kishan’s restaurant, Vivaha Bhojanambu, was raided by Telangana’s Food Safety Department on July 8, 2024. The authorities claimed the restaurant violated six rules. In response, Sundeep has defended his establishment, emphasizing its charitable work and addressing the concerns raised.

Sundeep explained that Vivaha Bhojanambu was established not for profit but to support the nearby Chiranjeevi Blood Bank by providing free food. He shared that the restaurant donates around 350 food packets daily, worth over ₹4 lakh a month. “With such a significant donation, it’s hard to believe we would save an expired packet worth a few bucks,” he said.

While admitting that the raid uncovered some ‘minor issues,’ Sundeep insisted these did not relate to food safety or cleanliness. He addressed specific claims, including outdated rice, synthetic colors in coconut, improper storage, uncovered dustbins, missing medical certificates for food handlers, and water stagnation in drains. “We’ve addressed these minor issues,” he said, “and there was no stagnant water; it was just a drain.”

Despite the raid, Sundeep noted that business at his restaurant remained strong. “People trust the quality of our food, and we saw a spike in business the day after the raid.”

In other news, Sundeep has recently released Raayan, a Tamil film where he collaborates with Dhanush, Kalidas Jayaram, and SJ Suryah. He’s also working on a Telugu film titled Vibe, directed by Swaroop RSJ, and an untitled project by Trinadha Rao Nakkina.
