Kangana Ranaut Slams Sonu Sood Over Controversial Defense of Spitting Vendor

Actor Sonu Sood recently faced criticism on social media because of defending a food vendor who was caught spitting on a customer’s food. The incident sparked outrage online, with many condemning the vendor’s unsanitary and disrespectful behavior.

Sonu Sood Slammed by Kangana Ranaut

Actor-turned-MP Kangana Ranaut took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to criticize Sonu Sood after he defended a food vendor caught spitting on a customer’s food. “Next you know Sonu ji will direct his own Ramayana based on his own personal findings about God and religion. Wah kya baat hai Bollywood se ek aur Ramayana,” she posted.

Kangana Ranaut shared her criticism on X (formerly Twitter) by reposting another post that highlighted Sonu Sood’s controversial comments about the food vendor incident. The original post described Sood’s defense of the vendor’s actions, which had drawn widespread condemnation. “SHOCKING NEWS… Bollywood actor Sonu Sood justifies sp*itting in people’s food. He equates sp*itting on food by a miscreant with Lord Ram eating Shabri’s berries. He said ‘if Lord Ram could eat Shabri’s berries, why can’t he eat rotis that have been spat upon?’ He defended the act of spitting by describing it as an act of ‘Humanity’. He said ‘Humanity must remain intact.’”

Earlier this week, a video shared on X (formerly Twitter) showed a boy spitting on dough while preparing rotis for customers, which sparked outrage. The video came in response to Sonu Sood’s criticism of a new rule in Uttar Pradesh and Haridwar requiring eateries along the Kanwar Yatra route to display their owners’ names. Sood had opposed the rule, arguing it might harm small food vendors.

The video, highlighting unsanitary food practices, intensified the backlash against Sood. It underscored concerns about food safety and vendor accountability, leading to further criticism from the public and figures like Kangana Ranaut.
