Idli For Rs 10, Dosa For Rs 20: Bengaluru Restaurant Amazes Internet With Shockingly Affordable Prices

Dining out has become increasingly costly, making even simple meals a burden on the budget. However, a recent post about the reasonable prices at a South Indian restaurant in Bengaluru has drawn considerable attention. A user on X (formerly Twitter) shared a photo of the restaurant’s menu, comparing it to the renowned Rameshwaram Cafe in Bengaluru, famous for its South Indian fare.

The restaurant, Taaza Thindi, located in Jayanagar, offers impressively low prices according to the menu shared in the post. A single idli and vada are priced at just Rs 10, while a masala dosa costs Rs 20. Additionally, other South Indian dishes like Kesari Bhat, Kharabhath, and Chow Chow Bhath are also offered at similarly affordable prices.

The caption with the photo read, “What in the Rameshwaram are these prices. Taaza Thindi.”

How Social Media Users React?

Since being posted, the photo has received significant attention, prompting many comments.

One user remarked, “You guys are so lucky the prices are insane. In goa, we get overpriced South Indian food in so-called new-age QSR outlets. Dosa is Rs. 120-Rs. 150 and tastes like crap.”

Another user nostalgically added, “Wow! This what I used to pay 15 years back in Mumbai. Wish they came with this pricing or even marginally higher in Mumbai.”

Someone else shared, “Best thing about Bangalore is you don’t have to depend on branded establishments for food. You walk into any restaurant and the breakfast will be hygienic and incredible.”

Another comment noted, “This is dirt cheap, in NCR normal restaurants like Haldirams sell Masala dosa for approx 250.”

A surprised user wrote, “Kahi ye koi sapna toh nahi, ya phir koi dusri currency ke prices toh nahi. Itni kam prices me toh metro cities me sambar ka katora tak na mile bhai (Is this a dream or are these prices listed in some other currency? In metro cities, you wouldn’t even get a bowl of sambar for such low prices).”

Meanwhile, another user shared their experience, “We have regular customers Taaza Tindi Banashankari for 8 years. Have also visited the Jayanagar branch. Really love their tasty and hygienic food. They also run Arogya Ahara in JP Nagar. I always wonder why it hasn’t garnered popularity like Rameshwaram Cafe. Deserves more recognition.”

The post has garnered over 500,000 views so far.
