This year, the medals of this prestigious tournament are made by LVMH jeweller Chaumet. Shapewise, the medals are round, and its hexagonal piece of metal is inspired from Paris’s iconic monument- The Eiffel Tower.

Coming to the diameter & thickness of the medal, it is permanent. The diameter of Paris olympic medal is 85mm and its thickness is 9.2mm.

As for the weight, the three medals- Gold, silver and Bronze are respectively weighed 529 gm, 525 gm and 455gm.

Last but not the least, the hexagonal metal situated in the middle of the medals actually reflects geometrical shape of this European country-France.
