An American Airlines plane from Tampa, Florida, had a scary moment before takeoff. Just as it was speeding up on the runway, several tires suddenly burst. The pilot had to hit the brakes hard to stop the plane from taking off.

The video, shared by Colin Rugg online, shows the tense situation. “American Airlines flight 590 narrowly avoided a disaster when its tires burst during takeoff,” Rugg wrote. “The pilot stopped the plane moments before it was about to take off.”

Luckily, all 174 passengers and six crew members were safe. American Airlines promptly returned the aircraft to the terminal and organized a replacement flight for the passengers. The incident didn’t affect other flights at the Tampa airport.

People on social media praised the pilot for stopping the plane safely. “Good job by the pilots to stop the plane,” one person commented. Another said, “It could have been much worse if it happened later. Thankfully, they acted quickly.”

Captain Steven Markovich, who films aviation videos on YouTube, accidentally captured the tense moment. His reactions showed how serious the situation was and how important quick decisions are in aviation.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the United States’ federal aviation agency, reported that the crew “noted multiple tire blowouts” and will conduct an investigation into the incident. They confirmed there were no injuries and that passengers were safely taken off the plane and transported to the terminal by bus.

According to the FAA, “American Airlines Flight 590 aborted its takeoff from Tampa International Airport at approximately 7:50 am local time on Wednesday, July 10, following reports of multiple tire blowouts by the crew. Passengers disembarked on the taxiway and were transported to the terminal by bus.”

“The plane was scheduled to fly to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. The FAA will conduct an investigation. For further details, please contact the airline,” the statement added.

Despite the scary experience, everyone involved stayed safe thanks to the pilot’s quick actions. Emergency teams arrived quickly to help, showing how important safety is in situations like this. As authorities investigate what caused the tires to burst, this incident is an example of how vital safety rules are in aviation. Quick decisions can make a big difference in keeping everyone safe.
