Assam is grappling with severe floods that have claimed 72 lives and displaced over 27.74 lakh people across 28 districts, officials confirmed on Tuesday. He noted a higher casualty count and increased damage this year, with extensive infrastructure damage and numerous wildlife casualties reported at Kaziranga National Park. Rescue efforts involving multiple agencies, including NDRF and SDRF, are ongoing amidst ongoing challenges posed by the deluge.
