Jasprit Bumrah To Retire? Check What Indian Bowler Said At T20 WC Facilitation

In the aftermath of winning the T20 World Cup 2024, senior players Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli announced their retirement from T20 format. Later on Sunday, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja also called it quits.

But many Indian fans are curious, Is Jasprit Burmah going to retire? Well, as confirmed by Indian pacer himself, he is here to stay.

Talking about his retirement at T20 WC Facilitation at Wankhede stadium, Bumrah said, ‘Retirement is not happening…. It’s a long way away. I have just started. Hopefully, it is far away now.’

Meanwhile in the facilitation event, Virat Kohli praised Indian pacer for his critical role, he played in team India’s win. Recounted, how he made the team recover, when south Africa just inches away from the win.

‘As fans in the stadium, we all were thinking that the game was getting out of our control. But what Jasprit did in the final five overs was truly special. Bumrah repeatedly brought our team back into the tournament. We are fortunate to have him playing for us. Please join me in giving Bumrah a huge round of applause for his outstanding efforts’ said Kohli.

Earlier in a post-match conference following the win, Rohit Sharma too praised Bumrah for the win saying, ‘You can’t forget what the batters did with the bat, Virat getting that runs, Axar playing that part, and then eventually us finishing off with the score that we finished. And then obviously when we started with the ball, Bumrah, Arshdeep were superb. I don’t know how much I can talk about Bumrah. Obviously, we’ve been seeing this with him for such a long time now. Whenever he has ball in hands, he tends to create magic for us every time. I am very lucky to have players like this in my squad. Players who are playing for me and Team India. Really, really grateful, and thankful as well.’
