‘Santushtikaran, Not Tushtikaran’: PM Modi Criticizes Opposition In Lok Sabha

Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the historic significance of being elected for a third consecutive term, emphasizing it as a reflection of the Indian people’s trust in his leadership and government policies. Responding to the motion of thanks on the President’s address in Parliament, Modi stated, “The people of India have given us the opportunity to serve them for a third successive term. It is a significant event in the country’s history.”

He underscored his government’s commitment to combating corruption, recalling their initial promise of zero tolerance towards it upon assuming office. “When we first came to power in 2014, we pledged zero tolerance against corruption,” Modi reaffirmed. Reflecting on the impact of this approach, he added, “Corruption had deeply affected the country, but the public has supported us for our firm stance against it.”

In a critical remark aimed at past Congress-led administrations, Modi criticized the politics of appeasement that prevailed over an extended period. “For a long time, the country experienced politics and governance based on appeasement,” he remarked. Emphasizing his government’s approach, he reiterated, “We have pursued ‘santushtikaran’ (satisfaction) and not ‘tushtikaran’ (appeasement), adhering to the principle of ‘justice for all, appeasement to none.'”

This is a developing story.
