Team India had a delightful surprise in their dressing room as Yuvraj Singh, one of India’s legendary match-winners, paid them a visit. Few players have left as significant an impact on multiple World Cups as Yuvraj Singh did, with unforgettable performances in the 2007 and 2011 campaigns. Whether it was his six sixes off Stuart Broad or his courageous century against West Indies while battling cancer, Yuvraj’s contributions remain etched in cricketing history.

As India secured a victory against USA in the T20 World Cup, Yuvraj entered the dressing room during the post-match celebrations. His arrival was met with enthusiastic applause as he congratulated the players for their performance, starting with Arshdeep Singh, whose outstanding spell of 4/9 restricted USA to 110/8.

“Few words? Well done guys. Made a game out of it… very well done. Arshdeep, Congratulations for your Man of the Match and for your batting skills last game also (scoring 9 against Pakistan),” Yuvraj commended before praising Suryakumar Yadav for his composed innings under pressure.

Suryakumar’s unbeaten 50 off 49 balls, supported by Shivam Dube’s 31 not out off 35 balls, was crucial in India’s victory, with the duo stitching a vital partnership of 72 runs. Yuvraj acknowledged Dube’s contribution, emphasizing the importance of performing in a World Cup match to boost confidence.

Yuvraj’s presence also added an element of suspense as he awarded the special fielding medal to Mohammed Siraj for his exceptional fielding efforts, including two crucial catches. Siraj’s consistency and dedication were lauded by the team management, with coach Rahul Dravid highlighting his effort and commitment as a fast bowler.

Yuvraj’s visit and Siraj’s recognition highlighted the camaraderie and appreciation within the Indian team, reflecting their collective spirit and determination in the ongoing T20 World Cup.
