Ahead of his swearing-in, Odisha Chief Minister-designate Mohan Charan Majhi emphasized protecting Odisha’s pride as a top priority. Majhi, a four-time MLA, will be sworn in today, along with Deputy Chief Ministers-designate Pravati Parida and KV Singh Deo.
Majhi reiterated his commitment to safeguarding Odisha’s pride and working towards the promises made during the election campaign, especially those aimed at helping marginalized communities. The new government aims to fulfill Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guarantees.
Majhi, along with his deputy CM designates, paid respects to prominent historical figures in Bhubaneswar earlier today and met with the Santal community, receiving a traditional welcome.
Prime Minister Modi will attend the ceremony, and extensive security measures are in place. Modi, who recently began his third term as PM, is expected to arrive in Bhubaneswar at 2:30 pm, with the oath-taking ceremony scheduled for 5:00 pm.
Majhi, a prominent tribal leader from Keonjhar, began his political career as a Sarpanch and has been elected to the state assembly multiple times since 2000. He will lead Odisha’s first BJP government after the party secured a majority in the recent assembly elections.
