Vikramaditya Singh Calls Kangana Ranaut Airport Slap Incident ‘Unfortunate’

In a startling incident at Chandigarh airport, a CISF (Central Industrial Security Force) constable allegedly assaulted Bollywood actor and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut during a security check. The altercation occurred around 3:30 pm as Ranaut was en route to board a flight to Delhi.

According to reports, the constable reportedly slapped Kangana Ranaut and hurled abuses at her. Ranaut, in a subsequent video message, confirmed the incident, stating that the constable targeted her and cited support for the farmers’ protest as justification for the assault.

In response, Congress leader Vikramaditya Singh, who lost to Ranaut in the recent Lok Sabha elections, condemned the incident, labeling it “unfortunate” and calling for action against the constable involved. Singh emphasized the CISF’s responsibility to maintain a peaceful atmosphere within airports and urged the government to take appropriate measures.

Meanwhile, the CISF swiftly responded to the incident by suspending the constable in question and initiating an inquiry. A senior CISF officer confirmed the suspension and stated that an FIR is being filed against the constable.

The constable, in her defense, cited her mother’s involvement in the farmers’ protest as a motivating factor behind her actions. She expressed indignation at Ranaut’s remarks about the protest and defended her mother’s participation.

This incident has sparked debates regarding security protocols at airports and the boundaries of political expression. Ranaut’s victory over Singh in the Lok Sabha elections adds a political dimension to the altercation, further intensifying public interest and scrutiny.

As investigations proceed, questions linger about the appropriate response to such incidents and the need for maintaining professionalism in security operations, especially in sensitive environments like airports.
