Happy Birthday Lilibet: Meghan Markle And Prince Harry Hosted A Lavish Pre-Birthday Bash

Celebrations are in full swing as Meghan Markle and Prince Harry prepare to mark the third birthday of their daughter Lilibet on June 4th. The royal couple hosted a pre-birthday bash at their residence in Santa Barbara over the weekend, joined by close friends, family, and some special guests to honor the little princess.

The joyful occasion follows shortly after Meghan received a notable honor in Nigeria, a month after the couple’s visit to the country as part of the Invictus Games initiative. Meghan and Harry departed from their royal duties in the UK in 2020 after their wedding in 2018, and subsequently welcomed their first child, Archie, in Harry’s hometown. Their second child, Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, affectionately known as Lilibet, was born in California after the couple’s relocation to Meghan’s hometown.

According to People magazine, the Sussexes opted to celebrate Lilibet’s birthday a bit early, surrounded by their immediate family, excluding members of the royal family. Lilibet’s name carries significant familial connections, with her first name honoring Queen Elizabeth’s family nickname, while her middle name, Diana, pays homage to her late grandmother, the Princess of Wales.

Maintaining their preference for privacy in raising their children, Meghan and Harry introduced Lilibet to the world in 2021 through a joint statement, expressing their joy at completing their family. While fans eagerly anticipate a glimpse of the birthday girl through a new portrait, similar to the tradition observed by Kate Middleton and Prince William’s children, reports suggest that the celebrations will remain private, akin to Archie’s recent fifth birthday.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex recently returned from a successful trip to Nigeria, where they were warmly received. Meghan was honored with a Chieftaincy Title and bestowed with the Yoruba name Adetokunbo by the Oluwu of Iso, a traditional Nigerian leader. In response, Meghan expressed gratitude for the honor and hospitality extended to her, emphasizing the significance of exploring her heritage, which extends to her children.

The couple’s visit to Nigeria holds personal importance, offering them an opportunity to connect with Meghan’s roots, which they hope to pass on to their children. Meghan’s heartfelt letter to the Oba underscores their appreciation for the experience and their aspirations to return home one day, further strengthening their ties to Nigeria and their shared heritage.
