Lok Sabha Election 2024 Results: Delhi Prepares for Counting Day, 70 Forces Deployed At 7 Centres

As National Capital Delhi gears up for counting day, around 70 company forces are deployed at seven counting centers as a part of the Delhi Police security arrangement on June 4.

‘Elaborate security arrangements have been made by Delhi Police for the vote-counting day of Lok Sabha Elections 2024. On June 4, during the counting process, around 70 companies of the force will be deployed at all seven counting centers across Delhi,’ announced police.

Security Arrangements Made by the Police

Talking to ANI about security measures, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), central Devesh Kumar Mahla, revealed that these counting centers have been allotted certain guidelines by the Election Commission of India. Taking these guidelines into account, the police forces are accordingly deployed.

Additionally, CAPF forces have been deployed, and the model code of conduct restrictions remain in effect.

Ahead of the vote counting day, the Delhi Traffic Police has issued a fresh advisory, identifying key roads where traffic restrictions remain in effect. Diversions have commenced from 5 a.m. to facilitate seamless vehicle movement.

As per the advisory, ‘The movement of traffic on the road stretch or carriageway from Gagan Cinema T-Point to Nand Nagri Flyover on Wazirabad Road (Mangal Pandey Road) in Delhi is restricted from 5:00 a.m. onwards.’

In addition, the advisory revealed that Mangal Pandey Road will remain closed for general traffic from 5:00 a.m. onwards, and traffic will be shifted from Gagan Cinema T-Point. The public is also advised to avoid the below road.

Taking vote counting into account at Commonwealth Games Village, Akshardham, there will be traffic restrictions and diversions in the area.

Special traffic arrangements will also be made in August Kranti Marg and Siri Fort Road.

As a result, commuters are asked to cooperate by steering clear or bypassing the above-mentioned roads. Moreover, people who are going to ISBT, railway stations, or airports are asked to plan their travel carefully, so that they allocate enough time for the journey.
