Jammu And Kashmir: Fire Erupts In Ramnagar Forest Division

A massive and devastating fire broke out in the pristine and ecologically significant Ramnagar forest division located in the region of Jammu and Kashmir, igniting fear and concern among residents and environmentalists alike. This catastrophic incident occurred during the tranquil early hours of Sunday.

With its intense ferocity, the raging fire has inflicted immeasurable devastation, mercilessly engulfing vast expanses of forest land and resulting in an estimated financial loss of millions of rupees in timber and other invaluable natural resources.

Forest officials reported that a significant forest fire broke out on Sunday at Gangera Hill in the Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir. Following the alert, personnel from the forest department swiftly mobilized to initiate containment measures and control the spreading flames.

According to the preliminary estimate provided by forest officials, the ongoing fire has resulted in substantial devastation, engulfing extensive forest areas and leading to an estimated financial loss of crores of rupees in timber and other invaluable natural resources.

A significant forest fire has been ongoing in Daya Dhar, located in Gordi Block within Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur District for the past three days.

The fire has grown stronger during this time, and despite ongoing firefighting attempts, it has not been controlled. The Daya Dhar forest region houses a substantial peacock population, and the fire has unquestionably caused damage to these beautiful birds.

The depletion of vegetation has not only affected the peacocks but also other animals and the ecosystem as a whole. The decline in wildlife populations and the disturbance of natural habitats are also key issues of concern.

The forest fires raging in Udhampur district present a substantial risk to the environment, wildlife, and nearby communities. The devastation of plants and the emission of dangerous pollutants into the air have wide-ranging implications.
