Two goods trains collided on Sunday morning near Madhopur in Sirhind on the Ludhiana-Ambala main track, resulting in injuries to two loco pilots, as reported by ANI. The injured pilots were rushed to Sri Fatehgarh Sahib Civil Hospital for treatment.
Sources revealed that one goods train, scheduled to travel to Ropar, was stationary on the Ludhiana-Ambala main track when another goods train collided with it from behind. This incident has led to the disruption of over 51 trains on the route, with seven trains being cancelled.
A Government Railway Police official stated, “Two loco pilots were injured Sunday morning when a stationary freight train was hit from behind by another at the Sirhind railway station.” Fortunately, there were no reported casualties.

The injured loco pilots were identified as Vikas Kumar and Himanshu Kumar, both of whom were referred to Rajindra Hospital in Patiala for further treatment. Ratan Lal of the Government Railway Police (GRP), Sirhind, confirmed, “Around 3:45 am, we received information that an accident took place. Two loco pilots have been injured, and they have been admitted to Civil Hospital, Fatehgarh Sahib. No casualties have been reported.”
Dr Evanpreet Kaur of Civil Hospital, Fatehgarh Sahib, disclosed that both loco pilots hailed from Uttar Pradesh. Additionally, railway sources clarified that it was an overshoot of the signal on DFC by the goods train and not a side collision between the trains.
