NDA Leaders Confident of Third Term Victory as Exit Polls Predict Landslide

Leaders from the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have expressed strong confidence in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government securing a third consecutive term, following exit poll results that predict a landslide victory for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).

Former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister and BJP leader Raman Singh emphasized the nation’s trajectory towards becoming a global power under Modi’s leadership. “The kind of results that are being seen across the country show that this country will move on the path of Sanatan, which is ancient as well as the most modern. The poor, workers, farmers, and women of the country have put their stamp on the 10 years of development. The third term will be for the glorious development of the country, it will be a start towards making India the third-largest power in the world,” Singh told ANI on Saturday.

Union Minister Giriraj Singh criticized the opposition INDIA bloc, asserting that the electorate has recognized the authenticity of PM Modi and the inefficacy of the opposition. “People have understood the reliability of PM Modi and have recognized the real face of the opposition. The people have accepted PM Modi,” Singh remarked.

In Maharashtra, BJP leader Kirit Somaiya highlighted the anticipated victories of the Mahayuti alliance in upcoming state elections, forecasting continued success in the state Assembly and the Mumbai Municipal Corporation. “Now nobody can stop India… Uddhav (Thackeray), what will happen to you now? Now, who will go out of India, PM Modi or Thackeray? People of Maharashtra have once again expressed their trust in PM Modi,” Somaiya said.

Shiv Sena leader Manisha Kayande predicted that the nation would witness Modi’s influence for the third consecutive time. “The exit polls are full of hope… The results on June 4 would be even better… We will see Modi’s magic for the third time,” he stated. The Shiv Sena, led by Eknath Shinde, is allied with the BJP in Maharashtra as part of the Mahayuti alliance.

Union Minister V Muraleedharan pointed out that the BJP could secure its first parliamentary seat in Kerala due to significant anti-incumbency sentiments and discontent with the Left parties’ policies. “This time there were two factors that were favourable for BJP and NDA in Kerala. First, there was a massive anti-incumbency, anguish against the ruling regime and the antipeople policies, and the corruption that was being indulged in by the chief minister and his family. All these have made the people vote against the ruling government and its alliance,” Muraleedharan explained.

MP Pabitra Margherita expressed optimism about the BJP’s performance in the northeast, expecting the party to win 12 out of 14 seats in Assam and at least 20 out of 25 seats in the region. “Our NDA is crossing 370 seats in every survey. We wholeheartedly welcome this but we are expecting the tally to cross 400… In Assam, out of 14 seats, we are sure to get 12 seats. In the northeast, there are 25 seats and we feel that the people of the northeast will give at least 20 seats to BJP,” Margherita said.

The voting for the 543-member Lok Sabha, which was conducted simultaneously with the Assembly elections in Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Odisha, and Andhra Pradesh, concluded on Saturday. The counting of votes is scheduled for June 4.

Exit polls indicate that the BJP-led NDA is set for a substantial victory, potentially achieving a “400 paar” goal, surpassing their 2019 performance of 352 seats. Two polls predict the BJP increasing its tally from the 303 seats won in the last Lok Sabha elections.

As the Narendra Modi-led BJP seeks a third term, the opposition INDIA bloc remains focused on countering the ruling party’s momentum. The final results on June 4 will determine the future political landscape of India.
