CM’s meeting signals end to bureaucratic domination

Congress party has been continuously accusing the BJP government and alleging that the bureaucracy is extremely dominating in the state. To counter this, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma held a meeting of officials on Friday. During the meeting, the Chief Minister initiated inquiries by directing the district in-charge secretaries to identify districts and officials where overnight stays in villages were not conducted. Additionally, he urged Chief Secretary Sudhansh Pant to promptly address any instances of negligence to ensure appropriate action against those responsible.

This stern approach by the Chief Minister underscores a notable shift in bureaucratic conduct following the conclusion of the Lok Sabha elections’ code of conduct. It signals a departure from the previous dynamic, where bureaucrats wielded significant influence over ministers and MLAs, a concern frequently raised by Congress. CM Bhajanlal Sharma’s unequivocal message during the officer meeting underscores the government’s expectation for officers to adhere strictly to directives.

The Chief Minister emphasized the need for self-determination in work, encouraging officers to evaluate their progress and commitment independently. He stressed the importance of accelerating work pace, setting clear goals, and implementing effective strategies. Present at the meeting were Chief Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary to Government, Special Secretary, and In-charge Secretary, with Divisional Commissioner and District Collector participating via video conferencing. The meeting, lasting approximately five hours, saw the CM’s directives prompt the in-charge secretaries to conduct thorough assessments of various government schemes, including those pertaining to electricity, water, and heatwave relief, during their two-day stays in the districts.

In the meeting, CM Bhajan Lal also reviewed the disposal time of e-filing. CM was told through presentation that earlier the average time of disposal of e-filing by the District Collector was 36 hours, it has come down to 2 hours. At the same time, the average time of secretary level officers has also improved. Earlier, where officers from Secretary to ACS level were disposing of files in 22 hours, that too has now come down to 4 hours. Not only this, now the Chief Secretary does not keep a file with him for more than 45 minutes. In the meeting, CM Bhajan Lal will also review the progress of disposal of problems coming on Sampark Portal apart from heatwave, electricity-water, water conservation, water harvesting, water self-reliance and the progress of afforestation and plantation works.

Earlier in the morning, CM Bhajan Lal reached Mehandipur Balaji temple in Dausa. There he took darshan of the Lord and participated in the Aarti. On this occasion, the CM said that there is a heatwave in the state. In such a situation, he prayed to God for peace and prosperity in the state. He also prayed to God that after this heatwave, there should be good rain and the farmer should get a good crop yield.

Along with the CM, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and Union Minister Piyush Goyal also performed aarti in the temple. CM Bhajanlal, while talking to the media after darshan at Mehandipur Balaji, said that in the coming times, the BJP government is definitely going to be formed in the country for the third time under the leadership of PM Modi. He said that in the election results, BJP is going to win with a huge majority.
