The Border Security Force (BSF) has seized two drones and a significant quantity of narcotics in separate incidents near the India-Pakistan International Border in Punjab’s Tarn Taran district. During a coordinated operation, BSF personnel recovered 1,060 grams of suspected methamphetamine from the drones.
The first drone was confiscated around 8:10 pm on Friday from a farming area in CB Chand village. The second drone was intercepted on the outskirts of Kalsian village at approximately 10:35 pm the same evening.
These seizures underscore the BSF’s ongoing efforts to combat narcotics smuggling and ensure border security. The BSF stated, “On the evening of May 30, vigilant BSF troops, upon receiving information about the presence of drones carrying narcotics in two different locations in the border area of Tarn Taran district, promptly conducted search operations in the suspected areas.”
A thorough search of the anticipated drop zones led to the recovery of one drone along with one packet (gross weight: 540 grams) of suspected ICE (methamphetamine) at about 8:10 pm from a farming field in CB Chand village. The narcotics were wrapped in yellow-colored adhesive tape with a metal wire ring attached.
Another drone, along with one packet (gross weight: 520 grams) of suspected ICE (methamphetamine), was recovered at about 10:35 pm from the outskirts of Kalsian village. The narcotics were similarly wrapped in yellow-colored adhesive tape with a metal wire ring attached.
“Both recovered drones have been identified as China-made DJI Mavic 3 classic,” the BSF added. “Keen observation and prompt action by the diligent BSF troops on duty once again demonstrated their commitment to stopping the entry of illicit drones carrying narcotics from across the border.”
