T20 World Cup 2024: Rohit Sharma, Rahul Dravid Getting Familiar with This New York Threat

Team India has arrived in the USA, kicking off their preparations for the highly anticipated T20 World Cup 2024. Adjusting to unfamiliar weather and time zones, the players landed in America, where cricket hasn’t been extensively played. Ahead of their campaign opener against Ireland on June 5, they’ll engage in a warm-up match against Bangladesh on June 1.

Despite the tournament still a few days away, the players took to exploring the city, seen strolling through Times Square and engaging with fans. Local enthusiasts managed to capture glimpses of the Men in Blue, offering a sneak peek into their pre-tournament activities.

In a viral video, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma and coach Rahul Dravid were spotted braving heavy rain in New York. Despite a fan’s eagerness for a photo, the downpour thwarted their plans. Nevertheless, witnessing the two cricketing icons up close was a memorable experience.

The team commenced their training sessions, greeted by sunny weather for their first practice in New York. Hardik Pandya joined the squad from London, adding to the energy of the session.

Sharing glimpses of their training on social media, Rohit, Suryakumar Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, and Hardik conveyed their readiness for the challenges ahead. While the first batch of players is already in the USA, others like Virat Kohli are expected to join soon after a brief break granted by the BCCI.

Following their training, the team participated in a photo shoot, showcasing their new T20I kit. Rishabh Pant shared behind-the-scenes moments, capturing the team’s upbeat spirit as they gear up for the prestigious tournament.
