Delhi Police Files Supplementary Chargesheet On Shraddha Murder Case

The Delhi Police filed a supplementary chargesheet in the Shraddha Walker murder case on Tuesday, indicating further progress in the investigation.

According to Delhi Police, this supplementary chargesheet contains scores of digital and forensic evidence collected during the investigation. The digital evidence includes the Google location history of Aaftab Poonawala which corroborates with his travel to the locations where he dispatched the body parts.

The charge sheet includes the Google locations of the phone of Shraddha Walker and shows how the phone travelled twice to Bombay and the history disappeared when Aaftab was called for questioning.

The chargesheet also mentioned the detailed report regarding digital evidence, including the search history of Aaftab Poonawala regarding the use of a “flare gun”. His other search history also corroborates with the events that unfolded.

The chargesheet has been filed before the Metropolitan Magistrate Aviral Shukla at Saket Court and is a supplementary chargesheet running into more than 3,000 pages, most of which contains digital and forensic evidence reports.

Saket court last year has started the trial in the murder case of Shraddha Walkar, killed allegedly by her live-in partner, Aaftab Poonawala who chopped her body into pieces and dumped these in various places.

The trial court had earlier framed charges against Aaftab on May 9 for offences under IPC sections 302 (murder) and 201 (causing disappearance of evidence of offence).
Shraddha Walkar was allegedly murdered by her live-in partner, Aftab Amin Poonawala, on May 18, 2022. After the killing, the accused cut off the body into 35 pieces and threw them in the jungle to destroy the evidence. Some of the parts were recovered later on.
