Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, speaking at an election rally in Zirakpur, Punjab, on Sunday, emphasized Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s efforts to honor and preserve Sikh heritage. Dhami highlighted several initiatives, including the respectful repatriation of three holy copies of the Guru Granth Sahib from Afghanistan, the construction of the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor, the celebration of Veer Bal Diwas in honor of Guru Govind Singh Ji’s Sahibzadas, and the promotion of their history.

“The Prime Minister has done many things for the preservation, protection, and expansion of Sikh heritage. The sacrifice of Sikhism has not been adequately told to the country and the world. The doors of Hemkund Sahib in Uttarakhand have opened, and to make the Hemkund Sahib Yatra easier, Prime Minister Modi has laid the foundation stone of the ropeway there,” Dhami stated. He urged the people of Punjab to support BJP candidate Preneet Kaur from Patiala, emphasizing that every vote for the BJP would strengthen the country and help achieve the goal of a developed India.

Dhami also praised India’s transformation under Modi, noting the country’s emergence as a manufacturing hub, the successful hosting of the G20 summit, and the impact of welfare schemes like Jan Dhan Yojana, Ujjwala Yojana, and Ayushman Yojana. He cited significant achievements such as the implementation of the CAA, the abrogation of Article 370, the ban on triple talaq, and the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.

Criticizing opposition parties for their appeasement tactics, Dhami accused the AAP and Congress of pandering to specific vote banks and lacking a coherent vision or ideology. He pointed out the BJP’s commitment to the Uniform Civil Code, contrasting it with the Congress’s support for the Muslim Personal Law. Dhami highlighted ongoing development projects in Punjab, valued at over Rs 2 lakh crore, including green field highways, expressways, and AIIMS.

Urging maximum voter turnout, Dhami called on the public to support Preneet Kaur and contribute to making Narendra Modi the Prime Minister for a third term.

Punjab is witnessing a four-corner fight, with voting for its 13 seats set to take place in a single phase on June 1. The constituencies involved include Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Khadoor Sahib, Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur, Nandpur Sahib, Ludhiana, Fatehgarh Sahib, Faridkot, Firozpur, Bathinda, Sangrur, and Patiala.
