Kangana Ranaut has hinted at a potential departure from Bollywood following the Lok Sabha Elections in 2024, expressing a desire to transition into active politics. In a recent interview with Aaj Tak, she criticized the film industry, labeling it as ‘fake’ and insincere.

The actor shared her thoughts on the industry, stating, “The film world is a lie, everything there is fake. They create a very different environment. It is a glossy world like a fake bubble which is to attract the audience. This is the reality.” She emphasized her passion for creative engagement, highlighting her diverse involvement in filmmaking beyond acting.

Kangana Ranaut is set to make her political debut by contesting elections from her hometown Mandi, representing the Bhartiya Janata Party. Currently engrossed in her campaign activities, Kangana rose to prominence in Bollywood with films like Queen, Tanu Weds Manu, and Tanu Weds Manu Returns.

Her directorial venture, Emergency, focused on the 21-month period from 1975 to 1977 during Indira Gandhi’s emergency rule, was scheduled for a June release but has been postponed. Kangana plays the role of Indira Gandhi in the film. She also has projects like Sita: The Incarnation, Noti Binodini, and an untitled thriller with R Madhavan in the pipeline.
