Bengaluru Man Loses ₹3 lakh After Buying Tickets For CSK Vs RCB IPL Match

While attempting to get a ticket for the forthcoming IPL match between RCB and CSK at Chinnaswamy Stadium, a 28-year-old Bengaluru man was conned out of ₹3 lakh. Con artists are aiming their scams at cricket fans because of the surge in demand for this championship match.

Fraudsters are focusing on cricket fans as the demand for the CSK vs. RCB decisive match has increased dramatically.

The victim allegedly came upon an Instagram announcement regarding ticket availability from a handle called “ipl_2024_tickets_24,” according to a story in The Times of India. The individual with the handle identified himself as Padma Sinha Vijay Kumar and stated that he was an authorized agent for the IPL ticket sales. He offered ₹2, 300 per ticket and even gave his Aadhar card and telephone number for verification.

Despite sending ₹7900 for three tickets, the victim did not receive the e-tickets. Upon inquiry, the defendant claimed there was a technical error and requested that he send an additional ₹67,000. The victim kept sending money since he was told he would receive a refund along with the tickets, and when the scammer kept requesting more money, he went to the police. The individual had ₹3 lakh stolen in total.

Bengaluru police registered a case under IPC section 420 and the investigation is going on. Meanwhile, the cops also alerted the cricket fans and asked to buy tickets onlt through the official ticket selling partners.
