According to The Balochistan Post, two individuals lost their lives, and another sustained injuries in two distinct shooting incidents in Balochistan on Friday.

The initial incident occurred in Dera Murad Jamali, where unidentified gunmen engaged in a fatal shooting, targeting Bashir Ahmed amidst a longstanding dispute. The police promptly responded to the scene, transferring Ahmed’s body to the hospital for forensic examination before releasing it to his family.

In another event in Dakki, assailants on a motorcycle opened fire on a shepherd named Raheem Baksh in the Ganderi area, resulting in his immediate death. The perpetrators fled after the attack, leaving the motorcycle behind. Dakki levies officials indicated that the shooting was likely motivated by a familial conflict. Baksh’s body underwent post-mortem procedures at the hospital before being returned to his family.

In a separate incident in Panjgoor, Mir Balach Khan, affiliated with the National Party, sustained gunshot wounds inflicted by unidentified armed assailants. Following the attack, Khan was transported to Karachi for advanced medical treatment.

Balochistan has been grappling with various forms of violence, including enforced disappearances, human rights abuses, shootings, and military operations.

In related news, Sheikh Jaffar Mandokhail, a leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), assumed office as the new governor of Balochistan in a ceremony at the Governor House. Mandokhail expressed his commitment to addressing the province’s challenges and improving governance through dialogue with the federal government.
