Mayawati Removes Nephew Akash Anand as BSP National Coordinator and Her ‘Successor’

Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati made a significant announcement on Tuesday, removing her nephew Akash Anand from his position as national coordinator and her political successor. This decision, she stated, was made in the “larger interest” of the party, citing the need for Anand to attain “full maturity” before holding such responsibilities.

Mayawati emphasized the BSP’s dual role as both a political party and a movement dedicated to the ideals of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar and social change championed by Kanshi Ram. She underscored the importance of continuing this legacy and preparing a new generation to carry it forward.

While Anand’s father, Anand Kumar, will continue his duties within the party, Mayawati clarified that Anand’s removal from his position is a strategic move to ensure the party’s long-term goals are met. She expressed her commitment to promoting others within the party while acknowledging Anand’s contribution to the movement.

Mayawati reiterated the BSP’s readiness to make sacrifices for the party’s advancement and the broader Ambedkarite movement. Despite this decision, she affirmed her determination to propel the BSP forward under the principles of Baba Saheb Dr Ambedkar.
