CHANDIGARH: The much-awaited Brahmin Mahasammelan, held on the occasion of Lord Parshuram Jayanti in Karnal on Sunday, witnessed a massive gathering and created a buzz across the state ahead of forthcoming Lok Sabha polls. People hailing not only from the Brahmin community but also from all segments of the society participated in the convention.

The Brahmin Mahasammelan, organised by Member of Parliamentary Kartikeya Sharma and former Union Minister Venod Sharma, was a sight to behold. Former chief minister Manohar Lal, who attended the function, received a warm reception. People from all communities showered him with affection while extending support to him.

Addressing the gathering, former Union minister Pandit Venod Sharma praised the former chief minister, terming him as a true well-wisher of the Brahmin community. Waving the job letters of ten-thousand aspirants, he said Manohar Lal while holding the office of CM then, and the present BJP government have paved paths for job opportunities for the poor and deprived sections of the society, irrespective of anyone’s caste or status. This clearly showcases the transparency in the rule, he added.

On MP Kartikeya Sharma, he said Kartikeya has always learned to sacrifice for the society. He also has played the role of a helping hand, he added. “‘It is a very big thing to think about the people of other society, more than our own society and if our society does this work, then only we are called descendants of Lord Parshuram ji,” he added. Further, Pandit Venod Sharma said: “I am very happy that people from all over Haryana have gathered on one stage in the occasion of Lord Parshuram Janmotsav programme.
